Mezcal is a widely misunderstood spirit in the United States. In fact, most of us know very little about this storied, multi-culturally influenced (and sometimes Illegal!) distilled drink. Join veteran Cheesemonger Julia Gross, and Second Mouse Cheese Shop owner Ivy Ronquillo, for an expedition through the virtually unchartered world of Cheese and Mezcal pairings. This class will include five Cheese pairings with rare artisan Mezcals and will focus on their rich histories. Learn about their curious relationship, their journeys to the New World, as well as how Artisan Cheeses and Mezcals continue to exist today. Julia has spent years studying and teaching Mezcal in both Mexico and the US - in fact, she’s the only person to do so!
